Summer Shape Up! Four Different Ways to Lose Weight

Summer Shape Up! Four Different Ways to Lose Weight

It's embarrassing to say how many various commercial weight loss programs I've tried. I'm sure you'll agree with me when I say that I'm sick of talking heads making empty promises. None of them helped me look the way I wanted to, and most of them made me miserable by making me eat the same monotonous foods again and over. If you've been doing this for a while, you already know the basics of exercise: do both resistance and cardio training. But what should a body do when it comes to food?

If you've been unhappy with commercial dieting, don't worry: This article has some tips that aren't too commercial for becoming in shape. Ones that they don't always tell you. Ones that I've discovered to be effective. These four different ways to lose weight will help you get started, whether you want to lose a few pounds from winter or are searching for a healthy shift and are tired of the same old patterns.

Use creative visualization as a solution.

Stimulating the mind to help your body reach a desired result is a terrific technique to bring about change. One of the best methods to lose weight and feel better about your body is to "see" yourself thinner and fill your head with positive thoughts. Also called guided imagery, it works by teaching your mind to make changes in your body. You can do this with some of my favorite tools:

Audio CDs: The guided imagery and weight loss CD from Donate Your Weight (www.donateyourweight.com) is great for anyone who want to listen. This CD has exercises that help you visualize, hypnotize, and affirm your body. Sheri Zampelli, your host and hypnotherapist, will guide you through a number of exercises that will help you change your body in a positive way. I adore this CD and use it a lot. Not only does it stop bad body image thoughts in their tracks, but it also makes the listener feel relaxed all day long.

Writing Affirmations: Saying or writing affirmations will help you train your mind by making your intentions clear. It will help you think more positively. I prefer to utilize positive sentiments like "My Body Is Beautiful!" when I say affirmations. I adore my body! I write these messages to myself on an index card or piece of paper and carry them with me to make them work better. I look them over a few times a day.

One of my favorite books about positive affirmations is Love Your Body! by Louise L. Hay. You can get it at www.hayhouse.com. Louise has written affirmations for you in this book. If you read them every day, you will definitely benefit from appreciating your body.

Try a herbal wrap as a second solution.

You might want to try a herbal wrap if you want to lose a few extra pounds. Herbal wraps help you lose inches and water. You can get a wrap at your favorite salon, but they can be pricey. You may easily give yourself a spa treatment at home. There are herbal wrap goods all over the place. If you want to get a wrap but would rather do it at home. Visit www.slenderwrap.com

Some of the good things with herbal wraps are:

- Losing weight - Losing water
- Fewer inches
- How smooth the tissue is

Stop when you're full as a solution.

Geneen Roth's book Appetites gives us a straightforward plan for how to reduce our portions. She always says, "Take your time eating" and "Stop when you're full." Both of these notions can change shape. Food is a buddy to certain individuals, including me. So, the need to eat too much comes from feelings: food makes us feel safe and comfortable. Some people are in a hurry. Food and the need to eat are just things that get in the way.

To stop doing these bad things, ask yourself a few questions:

Am I liking the food I'm eating? Do I eat while standing or while running? Do I keep eating even if I know I'm full? Next, make time to eat and enjoy meals with friends or family. Or to take the time to eat a healthy dinner, even if you're by yourself. Stop eating when you're full. Controlling portion sizes is usually an easy way to lose weight.

Solution #4: Write down what you eat

It can also be a good idea for you to keep a food journal. You are responsible for everything you put in your mouth if you keep note of what you eat every day. Getting started is easy. Keep track of everything you eat and your weight for a week.

Take stock of yourself at the conclusion of the week. Did you put on weight? Lost? Did it stay the same? If you're gaining weight, just cut back on the heavy carbs and refined sugars (sweets) you eat. For example, white rice or white potatoes. Instead of these, use brown rice or sweet potatoes. Keep track of your habits for a second week.

When you get to the point in your eating plan where your weight stays the same, you simply need to eat a few fewer calories each week (or burn a few more during exercise) to lose weight. Remember that your body needs to burn more calories than it eats in order to lose weight. Remember to identify your melting point first, and then change your portion management and workout plan to fit it.

In conclusion, you can alter your attention from annoyance to satisfaction by making a few small changes, enjoying food by seeing its beauty as a way to fuel your body, and being more mindful of your body image. Try these other ways to lose weight. Your health and your waistline will be grateful.
